Rome

We're on our way!!! We flew from Chicago to Rome, Italy, where Phil and I had a 14 hour layover. We made some new friends from South Church and spent the day touring Rome with them. We visited the colisseum (this was most exciting as I could just imagine the day of the Roman emperers and the games that entertained them). We saw the actual chariot tracks and the cells where the gladiators were helf before they fought. We also went to the Roman Forum, Pantheon and the Vatican (ne we did not see the pope). St. Peter's basilica is breath taking. Those of you that are going to Italy in April are in for a real treat.

We had a leisurly lunch at an outside cafe in Rome and then returned to the airport to make our 10 PM flight for Tel Aviv (which did not leave until 11 PM).

Will post more later,

Diane
