We are all set to leave for Chicago on Saturday to fly to Rome, Italy arriving around 8 AM Sunday. Phil and I along with half of our group will be spending the day in Rome. We will probably take a city tour and see as many sites as we can before we have to be back at the airport to leave at 10 PM Sunday night. We will arrive in Israel at 2 AM Monday and go right to our resort in Tiberius where we will join the rest of our group in progress. Not much sleep for us but who cares about sleep when you are on the adventure of a lifetime!!!! We will try to sleep as much as possible on our flights. We will miss one day in Israel but we are excited to be able to see some of Rome.
I will post again Monday night from Israel.

Changes Already
Our plans have changed already. Due to the blizzard that the east coast is getting, our flight from Detroit to Newark, NJ on Friday morning was canceled. Apparently they fly a rather small plane from Detroit and Newark and, due to the high wind and low visibility, Continental has canceled all flights from the Detroit/Ohio region to Newark. I would personally rather not be on a small plane fighting a big wind. I'm not real fond of being on planes in bad weather.
So, now we are not leaving until Saturday morning. We meet at South church around 8 Am on Saturday and then drive to Chicago to fly from Chicago to Rome, Italy and then onto Tel Aviv, Israel arriving in Israel on Sunday morning instead of Saturday morning. Our sightseeing will really not be affected as Saturday was basically a free day to rest up from our travel there. So now we will jump right into our tour on Sunday morning. There is a slight chance that our whole group will not be able to be on the same plane from Rome to Tel Aviv. If that is indeed the case, Phil and I have volunteered to stay with the second group leaving Rome and possibly spend the night in Rome still getting into Israel on Sunday. If we do that, we will get to take a city tour of Rome!!! How cool is that!!! And still not miss seeing anything in Israel. Believe me, I would much rather be stuck in Rome than Newark in a blizzard!!!
What an adventure this is turning out to be.
I'll write again when I actually get to Israel.
